About Audax UAE

What is Randonneuring?

Randonneuring (also known as Audax in some countries) is long-distance cycling. It is non-competitive in nature — it's about completing the course within a set time limit, not about finishing first. All finishers within the time limit are considered equal.

Brevets de Randonneurs Mondiaux (BRM)

BRM events are organized under the authority of Audax Club Parisien (ACP), France — the international governing body for randonneuring. Standard BRM distances are:

  • 200 km — Time limit: 13 hours 30 minutes
  • 300 km — Time limit: 20 hours
  • 400 km — Time limit: 27 hours
  • 600 km — Time limit: 40 hours
  • 1000 km — Time limit: 75 hours

Super Randonneur

A rider who completes BRMs of 200, 300, 400, and 600 km in a single calendar year earns the title of "Super Randonneur" (SR). This is a prerequisite for qualifying for Paris-Brest-Paris (PBP), the legendary 1200 km event held every four years.

Audax UAE

Audax UAE is the national organization for randonneurs in the United Arab Emirates. We oversee BRM events conducted by local clubs across the emirates, ensuring they meet ACP standards for route approval, timing, and homologation.

Our mission is to grow the randonneuring community in the UAE, provide well-organized brevets year-round (taking advantage of the cooler months from October to April), and help riders achieve their long-distance cycling goals.
